Outer Banks Dermatology in Nags Head, North Carolina has been serving the Outer Banks and surrounding areas of Northeastern North Carolina for over 15 years. Renee Glover, MD is a Board Certified Dermatologist with over 35 years of experience in medical dermatology, cosmetic dermatology, and dermatopathology. Joyce S. Smith, DNP, NP-C is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner with over 16 years of dermatology experience and a Doctorate in Nursing Practice. They are joined by our two full-time licensed aestheticians, Leigh Anna Walsh and Paige Brickhouse, in providing quality, personalized care for everyone who comes through our doors. 

Our team of dermatologists and onsite aestheticians provide both medical and cosmetic treatments including Botox, fillers, chemical peels, acne treatment, skin cancer screening and treatment, sclerotherapy, mole removal, and much more. They have expertise in designing skin care regimens and personalized treatment plans. Their top priorities are patient satisfaction and healthy, renewed, natural-looking skin.

  • Renee Glover, MD
Board Certified Dermatologist located in Nags Head, NC

Dr. Renee Glover has offered her expert dermatology services to the community of Nags Head, North Carolina at Outer Banks Dermatology since 2008. With over 25 years of experience in her field, she specializes in a range of medical and cosmetic services.

Dr. Glover earned her bachelor’s degree from Duke University and her medical degree from the Duke University School of Medicine. She served her internal medicine internship and dermatology residency at the University of California at San Diego. To further advance her knowledge and expertise, she completed a dermatopathology fellowship at the University of Texas Southwestern.

As a board-certified physician in dermatology and dermatopathology, Dr. Glover is skilled in skin disease diagnostics and treatment, skin cancer and mole removal, BOTOX® treatments, and sclerotherapy. Before Outer Banks Dermatology, Dr. Glover worked at Wilson Dermatology Clinic for over 15 years.

Dr. Glover maintains her fellow status in the American Academy of Dermatology. As a fellow, she actively participates in the academy’s certification activities.

  • Joyce Smith, DNP, NP-C
Dermatology Certified Nurse Practitioner located in Nags Head, NC

Joyce Smith, DNP, NP-C, joined the staff of Outer Banks Dermatology in December 2020 as a board-certified family nurse practitioner with over 14 years of dermatology experience and a Doctorate in Nursing Practice. She recently moved to the Outer Banks, where she is seeing patients of all ages full-time at the Nags Head, North Carolina, office.

Dr. Smith earned both her Bachelor of Science in public health and her Bachelor of Science in nursing from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. She then went on to complete a Masters of Science in nursing, with a specialization in child and adolescents, from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. Her family nurse practitioner training was done at East Carolina University, and she obtained her American Academy of Nurse Practitioner National Certification in 2006. To further advance her knowledge and expertise, she obtained a Doctorate in Nursing Practice from Abilene Christian University in 2018.

As an experienced, board-certified dermatology nurse practitioner with a background in child and adolescent nursing practice, Dr. Smith is skilled in skin disease diagnostics and treatment for patients of all ages. She has over fourteen years of experience working in dermatology clinics in Eastern North Carolina – most recently, Wilson Dermatology in Wilson, North Carolina.

  • Leigh Anna Walsh, ME

CERTIFIED MEDICAL ESTHETICIAN / CERTIFIED LASER TECHNICIAN

Leigh Anna Walsh is a Licensed Master Aesthetician and Certified Laser Technician with over 10 years of experience in Medical Esthetics and Laser treatments.

Leigh Anna graduated from The Institute of Epidermal Cell Therapy in 2013, with a license in Master Aesthetics. She also received her laser certification from Aesthetic Medical Laser Academy in 2020. Prior to receiving her laser certification, she trained under Dr. Theresa Conologue for years in laser techniques, treatments, and safety.

She has been a Master Aesthetician and Laser Technician at Outer Banks Dermatology since 2014.

Being able to share her love for skin heath treatments, from relaxing to transformative, along with medical grade skin care products is a dream come true. She says, “Helping others feel beautiful in their own skin is my passion. I love that I can help individuals find their confidence and self-love. In addition, I am very proud to be a part of the Aesthetics team here at Outer Banks Dermatology and can’t wait to continue my career while building lifelong connections with my clients.”

Leigh Anna currently lives in Kill Devil Hills, NC with her husband and two dogs. When she’s not at Outer Banks Dermatology, she loves spending time baking, reading, and being with her family.

  • Paige Brickhouse

Medical Esthetician

Paige Brickhouse is an Esthetician of 1 year and a Medical Assistant of 5 years with experience in Esthetics and Dermatology.

She is an Esthetician known for encouraging her clients to feel their very best through education and walking side by side with them through their journey. Paige graduated from the College of the Albemarle in 2019 with a Medical assistant degree and graduated from The institute of Epidermal Cell Therapy in 2022 with her license in Esthetics.

After graduating, She started her career at Outer Banks Dermatology in 2019. Paige currently lives in Wanchese, NC. Paige loves being outdoors and spending time with her loved ones and 3 dogs.
