Uses
Botox and Filler both target your winkles, working to get rid of them. However they both achieve different looks.
Botox
Botox its self is a muscle relaxer and has been used for more than two decades for not only wrinkles but the treatment of migranes and other medical conditions. For wrinkle treatment, Botox is primarily used to treat dynamic wrinkles. These wrinkles occur naturally around the eyes and mouth, as well as in between your eyebrows. They become more pronounced with age. Botox injections relax the muscles near these wrinkles. Not allowing the muscles to move reduces the appearance of dynamic wrinkles.
Filler
Dermal fillers also treat wrinkles on the face. They’re primarily used to treat smile lines, though the fillers can also be used to plump up the lips or cheeks. Sometimes, they’re used for hand treatments or to reduce the appearance of scars.
Comparative
Botox relaxes your muscles to prevent creation of more wrinkles and evens out the skin which typically lasts 3-4months. Filler adds volume to your face, leaving no room for wrinkles and typically lasts for 12-14 months. Cost comparison of the two is also based on the lasting of the product. Filler is going to be more costly, however it lasts 4 times longer than botox. In the end it all comes down to what you’re most comfortable with, whether you want to add volume or just minimize wrinkle creation.

Botox isn’t reccomened if you
- are pregnant or nursing
- have weak facial muscles
- currently have skin issues, such as thick skin or deep scars
- have multiple sclerosis or another type of neuromuscular disease
