Botox®/ Dysport / XEOMIN® IN NAGS HEAD, NC
Botox Injections
Botox is the perfect non-surgical way to treat signs of aging in the upper face area and is often used as a preventative anti-aging treatment. Dysport and Jeuveau are similar products made by other companies that work in the same manner as Botox Injections. We provide all three treatments.
BOTOX may be right for you if:
- You look in the mirror and feel like those forehead creases are getting deeper.
- Lines or furrows appear between your eyebrows. People continually ask if you are angry or upset.
- Those 'crow's feet' around your eyes make you look older.
BOTOX® / DYSPORT® / XEOMIN® PRE-TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS
In order to maximize your results and minimize your risk of bruising or side effects, please follow these pre-treatment guidelines:
- Avoid blood-thinning medications: Refrain from taking Aspirin, Ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin), naproxen (Aleve), or other NSAIDs at least 5 days before your treatment. It is possible that these medications will make you more prone to bruising. If you are on a prescribed blood-thinning medication, consult your doctor before stopping any medication.
- Steer clear of alcohol and Vitamin E: For at least 24 hours before your treatment, avoid alcohol, Vitamin E supplements, fish oil, and herbal supplements that may thin the blood and increase bruising.
- Schedule accordingly: If you have an upcoming special event, such as a wedding or photoshoot, plan your treatment at least two weeks in advance so that any minor bruising will subside.
- Eat before treatment: To avoid feeling lightheaded, have a nutritious meal before your appointment.
- Come with a clean face: Before your appointment, wash your face and remove all makeup to reduce the risk of infection
- Let your provider know: If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, have a neurological disorder or have had any prior complications with injectables, notify your provider before treatment.
BOTOX® / DYSPORT® / XEOMIN® POST-TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS
After your injections, it is essential to follow these post-care guidelines to achieve optimal results:
- Expect minor redness and swelling: Small bumps, redness, or minor swelling at the injection sites are normal and typically subside within 15–30 minutes. Applying arnica gel can reduce any residual swelling or bruising.
- No touching or massaging: Avoid rubbing, pressing, or massaging the treated areas for at least 24 hours to prevent the neurotoxin from spreading to unintended muscles.
- Stay upright: Keep upright for at least 4 hours after treatment. This helps the product settle properly and reduces the risk of migration.
- Avoid strenuous activity: Refrain from heavy exercise, excessive sweating, saunas, or hot tubs for 24 hours to minimize swelling and bruising.
- Skip facials and treatments: Avoid facials, microdermabrasion, laser treatments, or chemical peels for at least 1 week to prevent irritation at the injection sites.
- Use ice if needed: Applying a cool compress gently can help reduce any minor swelling or discomfort.
- Makeup application: You may apply makeup once any pinpoint bleeding has stopped. However, be gentle when doing so.
- Results timeline: Results may appear within 3–5 days, with full effects visible in 10–14 days. If you do not see the desired results after 2 weeks, a follow-up appointment may be necessary for touch-ups.
FAQs
How Does Botox®, Dysport®, or Xeomin® Work?
These neuromodulators work by temporarily blocking nerve signals to targeted muscles, preventing them from contracting. This helps soften fine lines and wrinkles, creating a smoother, more youthful appearance.

While all three are botulinum toxin type A injectables, there are slight differences:
- Botox®: The most well-known, it takes full effect in 7–14 days and lasts about 3–4 months.
- Dysport®: Diffuses slightly more, making it ideal for treating larger areas like the forehead. It takes 2–5 days to take effect.
- Xeomin®: A purified version of botulinum toxin with no added proteins, which may reduce resistance over time. It takes 5–7 days to show results.
